Mini-Mystery 2:
The Mystery at Machu Picchu
Miles, Maya, Gerard, and Sherlock are heading to Peru! Their adventure begins in Cusco, where they meet Luis, a local guide who has a problem. His llama, Lucho, has gone missing. The gate to his pen was left open, and although Lucho has wandered off before, he's always come home.
The group offers to help Luis as they travel through the Sacred Valley. Along the way, they visit ancient Inca towns, explore local markets, and follow clues that might help them find Lucho. Their search eventually leads them to Machu Picchu, one of the world's most famous archaeological sites.
As the story unfolds, students learn about the Inca Empire, explore Peru's geography, and discover how science connects to the places they're visiting. They'll build an Inca community, try weaving on a homemade loom, experiment with water and gravity, and create a map of their travels.
Students also build their detective skills, practice writing dialogue, and use what they've learned to create their own stories.
This experience will have your kids looking forward to each new lesson, eager to see what happens next.
